David John Mapley (born on 9 November 1959 in Liverpool, UK)[1] is a British businessman and investor. A fund manager, investment banker, and investor in strategic industries (security softwares [[mining]),[2] he is a non executive chairman of Shimoda Group Limited.[3] Mapley also creates the impression [4] of being a powerful investor in former Soviet Union countries such as Georgia and Ukraine.
He is currently thought to be living in Switzerland, but has also lived in the USA and in the UK. He is also known to have addresses in the Grand Cayman and in Georgia.
Career
Mapley has a B.Sc. (Econ) and an M.Sc. (Distinction) from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
He co-founded in 1993 the Shimoda Group in 1993 and is currently the non-executive chairman of Shimoda Capital Advisors Limited and Shimoda Group Limited.[5] Shimoda Group Limited is a Cayman Islands-based business group.
He is also the co-founder and Director of Nakata Capital Limited, a global telecommunication and technology management corporation based in Grand Cayman.[6]
