Dave Lopez is an American telecommunications executive who is currently the Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Tourism under Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin. Governor Fallin named Lopez as Secretary on January 27, 2011.

Biography

Lopez received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education from New Mexico State University. He joined SBC Communications, eventually raising to the position of President for the Oklahoma and Texas regions. After leaving SBC Communications, he began working as President of Downtown Oklahoma City Inc, which is a non-profit corporation aimed at revitalizing Oklahoma City's downtown. He then served as President of American Fidelity Foundation, a non-profit corporation in Oklahoma City that gives grants for economc development, education, human services, and art.

On January 27, 2011, Republican Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin named Lopez to serve as her Oklahoma Secretary of Commerce and Tourism.

Personal life

Lopez and his wife Lana live in Oklahoma City and have five children and seven grandchildren.
