Bleeker, 1853Datnioides, also known as tigerfishes, are the only genus of fish in the family Datnioididae.[1] The species of this genus are found in fresh and brackish waters of coastal areas and river estuaries in South and South East Asia.
Recent studies have shown that tigerfishes are closely related to the family Lobotidae.[2]
