Technology
Data Expedition's core technology is called the Multipurpose Transaction Protocol (MTP/IP).[2] It is a patented[3][4][5][6][7] and proprietary transport protocol (OSI Layer 4). DEI claims that MTP offers superior performance and reliability when compared to the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) transport protocol.[8][9]
Products
Data Expedition sells and markets the following products[10]:
- ExpeDat - a high-performance file transfer suite and alternative to technologies such as FTP, SFTP, HTTP, and CIFS
- SyncDat - a high-performance file replication and synchronization application, functionally similar to rsync. It rapidly compares and transfers files for backup, data migration, and mirroring.
- MTP SDKs - several MTP/IP interfaces are available, allowing developers to choose the programming model that best fits their needs to integrate DEI's technology.
