Darcy Gustavo Machado Vieira Lima (born 22 May 1962, Rio de Janeiro) a Brazilian chess master.[1]
At the beginning of his career, he won at Fortaleza 1980 (the 7th Campeonato Brasileiro Juvenil).[2] He won thrice Brazilian Chess Championship (1992, 2002, 2003),[3] won twice Zonal Sulamericano at São Paulo 2000[4] and 2003,[5] played in the Chess World Cup 2005 in Khanty-Mansiysk,[6] and tied for 1st-5th at Cali, Colombia, Campeonato Continental Absoluto 2007.[7]
Lima represented Brazil eleven times in Chess Olympiads (1988–2008).[8][9]
Awarded the International Master title in 1989, and the Grandmaster title in 1997.
