Career
Woodgate was born in Sidcup on 22 June 1983 and currently resides in Minster. In February 2010 Woodgate made his professional debut at the K2 Leisure Centre in Crawley beating Adam Wilcox. Woodgate's next fight was also at the k2 arena and ended in defeat to prize fighting finalist Sammy Couzens. Daniel returned to the ring 5 months after the disappointment of defeat with new trainer, former British light middleweight champion Ensley Bingham after suffering a shoulder injury in the third round Daniel fought through and won convincingly. Only 2 weeks after his previous fight that he suffered a shoulder injury Daniel returned to the ring to face hard hitting Elvis Dube who has won 2 of his last 6 fights by knockout. Daniel fought cautiously for the first 2 rounds trying to make sure he avoided Dube's hard right hand and picked him off with some beautiful jabs. By the third round Dube had run out of ideas and Daniel went on the attack taking all 4 rounds in a well mannered display.[1]
Woodgate is known for his aggressive crowd-pleasing style. He is managed by London based promoter Michael Helliet.[2] He is trained by former British light middleweight Champion Ensley Bingham.[3]
