Dan Lanphear was a player in the American Football League for the Houston Oilers in 1960 and 1962 as a defensive end. Lanphear was also drafted in the eighth round of the 1960 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played at the collegiate level at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and was a member of the 1959 Wisconsin Badgers football team that lost to the University of Washington in the 1960 Rose Bowl.[1]

Lanphear was born George Daniel Lanphear on January 24, 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin.[2]
