Career
College and Amateur
Howell attended Iroquois High School in Erie, Pennsylvania.
He played four years of college soccer at Gannon University, where he earned all-conference and all-region accolades every season at Gannon. He finished his collegiate career ranked sixth all-time in assists (29), eighth in goals (37) and eighth in points (103). A 2009 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection, he ranked sixth among PSAC players in points per match (0.60) and goals per match (1.47). He finished 61st and 64th among all NCAA Division II players in those two categories, respectively.[1]
During his college years Howell also played with Erie Admirals S.C. in the National Premier Soccer League, helping the team to the 2009 NPSL Championship game.[2]
Professional
Howell turned professional in 2010 when he signed for Íþróttafélagið Grótta of the 1. deild karla in the Icelandic football league.[3]
