High school career
A 2005 graduate of Thibodaux High School in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Johnson was first team All-state in Louisiana as a senior. He was also the All-Bayou Region Player of the Year in 2005, as well as his conference's defensive player of the year three times-as a sophomore, junior, and senior.
College career
Coming out of Louisiana, Johnson was highly recruited and signed to play with the Minnesota Golden Gophers in 2005. As a freshman he averaged just 1.6 points per game while averaging only 9.8 minutes per game. As a sophomore in the 2007-08 season, he sprung up the depth charts in Minnesota and scored 7.1 points per game while rising his minutes to 22.6 per game, and he started many of the 34 games he played in. As a junior in 2008-09 thus far he has enjoyed his best season, averaging 8.8 points per game in 26.3 minutes per game, starting all 24 that he has played in.
Pro career
Johnson will play for the Miami Heat in the NBA Summer League in 2010.[1]
