Tom Sullivan (Thomas M. Sullivan, b. about 1949) is a
business news anchor for theFox Business Network , who also hosts a syndicatedradio talk show on theFox News Radio network.A Seattle native, he moved to the Sacramento,
California area in 1975, and now lives in theNew York City area.After graduating from
Seattle University , Sullivan was a tax accountant for Price Waterhouse.According to anecdotes on his radio talk show, he served with the
Washington State Patrol before moving to Sacramento.Sullivan is a managing director of The Sullivan Group, a brokerage he founded in 1980 and sold to Prudential Securities in 1986, so it is now is affiliated with
Morgan Stanley .Sullivan is widely recognized in the Sacramento area not only for his radio show, but for his work as financial editor for both KFBK and for
KCRA -TV 3 dating back to the 1980's.Sullivan's radio talk show began in July 1988 on weekday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Pacific on KFBK, and the show took and has held number one ratings ever since.
Self-described as "fiscally conservative, socially it-depends", the success of his show, and his personal friendship with
Rush Limbaugh whom he met at KFBK in the early 1980s, resulted in his occasional appearance as a stand-in host on "The Rush Limbaugh Show ". Sullivan's brokerage is "The Sullivan Group" that Limbaugh cites as the official auditor of his claim to be "documented to be almost always right" some specific percentage of the time.In 2007, Sullivan left Sacramento to host a show on the
Fox Business Network , a new cable TV channel. His radio show became nationally syndicated byFox News Radio , and continues to air on its former home station KFBK in its 12 noon to 3 p.m. Pacific weekday time slot.Sullivan was a guest host for Limbaugh's show for many years, but no longer fills in for Limbaugh due to starting his own national show. Jason Lewis replaced him in the substitute host rotation.
