It is proposed to serve as a branch of the Orange Line.[1] The station will be a transit hub for regional rail lines on the DART Cotton Belt line. To solve the issue of connecting both segments of commuter rail to the airport terminals, DART will first open the Orange line directly from Belt Line Station to DFW Airport Station in 2013. Phase II, currently unscheduled, will create a branch line to the new DFW North station before terminating at DFW Airport Station.
