Owner(s) Mike Staple General manager Mike Staple Franchise history 1998 Washington Power 2008 to 2009 Washington Power 2009 to present DC Filibusters The DC Filibusters where originally known as the Washington Power. Before the start of the 2009-10 season the team changed their name to the DC Filibusters. After 3 games of play the DC Filibusters fell on hard times and Mike Staple took over control of the team. Mike Staple moved the team to Grand Rapids, MI and released all of the original DC players.
The Filibusters moved divisions from the South to the North to accommodate their new home location. They field teams in the Pro, AAA and AA divisions.
After the season the DC Filibusters will get a new name to link them more with the Grand Rapids area.
