Britta Heidemann (born 22 December 1982 in
Cologne ) is a Germanépée fencer. Heidemann had her biggest success on 13 August during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, when she defeatedAna Maria Brânză (ROU) to win the Gold Medal, just minutes after fellow countrymanBenjamin Kleibrink won the men's individual foil competition. Prior to this, her biggest achievement had been a Gold Medal at the 2007 World Championships in the individual competition. At the2004 Summer Olympics she won the Silver Medal in theépée competition with her teammates,Claudia Bokel andImke Duplitzer . During the2006 World Fencing Championships she won the Bronze Medal after beating Romania in the épée team event together with her team mates Imke Duplitzer, Claudia Bokel andMarijana Markovic . Heidemann currently lives as a student inCologne .External links
