Cyldon was the brand name for a range of model stationary steam engines, manufactured in Enfield, Middlesex, England between 1947 and 1951 by Sydney S Bird & Sons.

The range extended to five different models, numbered:

  • 13/1 which was a single-cylinder oscillating engine on a wooden base.
  • 13/2 which was a single-cylinder single-acting engine on a wooden base with an unusual semi-rotative valve gear.
  • 13/3 which was a single-cylinder oscillating engine, similar to the 13/1 but on an aluminium base.
  • 13/4 which was a single-cylinder oscillating engine on an aluminium base with reduction gearing.
  • 13/5 which was a fixed-cylinder engine on an aluminium base with reduction gearing.

All the engines where methylated spirit-fired, and all except the 13/3 were fitted with whistles.

The name Cyldon was an amalgamation of Sydney Bird's two son's names Cyril and Donald.
