Curious Generation is a music promotion company that was founded in 2005 by Charles Baybutt and Alex Martin. They met at university, and won a National Student Enterprise Award. Curious Generation is a music company that works on live events, artist promotion and programming, filming, internet streaming and work with all genres and artists.[1]

Promotion
Curious Generation runs 15-25 events per month in venues 100-1000 capacity: a mixture of residencies, club nights and headline shows in London, across the UK and abroad. They have worked with thousands of artists and promoted hundreds of shows. Artists they have worked with in the past have included: Dirty Pretty Things, We Are Scientists, Cold War Kids, Oi Va Voi, Scouting For Girls, The Noisettes, Eagles of Death Metal, David Ford, British Sea Power, Hercules and Love Affair, Art Brut and The Boy Least Likely To. In addition to working with all levels of artists, Curious Generation also remains committed to its original ethos - to help source, develop and work with the most exciting cutting edge bands/artists/DJ's.[2]
Booking
Curious Generation books residencies and gigs for artists/labels in London and across the UK on a project by project basis. Additionally, Curious Generation also books acts for events on a national and international basis.
Consultancy
Utilising the promotional events as a platform within the industry, Curious Generation consults on live music strategy, events and content for a number of clients. Consultancy ranges from:
- Running/hosting events such as launch parties, industry showcases, corporate functions and sponsored music tours. Consultations can cover all aspects of events from sourcing venues, artists, sound equipment to logistics and stage management.
- Providing content for television, internet and mobile applications. Curious Generation also has worked with a number of production companies in this area (see 'new media').
- Music Strategy for brands/clients and consultancy. Ranging from: research and consulting on appropriate music markets, new media options, creative strategy, booking artists and organising events.Past clients have included Channel 4, Diageo, MTV, Fuji International, Universal Music, Sony ATV Nokia Isle of Wight Festival and the British University Skiing Championships (BUSC).
New Media
Past projects have included:
- Live Internet Streaming: Curious Generation has streamed its events to 40 countries worldwide across the internet on a pay per view system through BT Digital Music Award winners 'Live Gigs Online' whose past gigs have included: Global Battle of the Bands, Hard Fi, Texas, Sugababes, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and a selection of the Curious Generation events.
- Mobile marketing/Creative mobile Phone Content: Curious Generation has in the past worked with mobile content companies such as Mobix Interactive and MX Telecom to devise music related mobile strategies for mobile applications. Mobile marketing platforms have also been set up for clients.
- Music Videos/live gig filming: By working with a number of production companies and independent film makers, Curious Generation offers the services of filming live gigs and producing music videos for bands/artists of all levels.
FuseWorks
Curious Generation also runs and owns FuseWorks a live event synchronisation business. Fuseworks is a joint venture between music director Ali Johnson ... and other specialist music industry partners. Their aim is to strengthen the synergy between the music and media / brand communications industries through tactile networking, live music and events.[3] Past events/clients have included: Universal: Boy Kill Boy & Thirteen Senses at BMB advertising, Sony ATV: Dirty Pretty Things at JWT advertising; Ninja Tune: Pop Lei at Soho Revue Bar; Skint Records amongst others.
