the publicYes Culver Battery (map reference SZ638855) is a battery located on Culver Down on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight. It is one of the many Palmerston Forts built on the island to protect it in response to a perceived French invasion. Construction of the battery began on 3 May 1904 and was complete by 21 July 1906.[1]
