Critical lens

Critical lens

A 'critical lens' essay is frequently used in schools and on New York State Regents Examinations. The essay states whether a quote is valid or invalid, and explains why using literary devices from pieces of literature. It is an analysis of the quote and uses literary elements and techniques to do so.
