Life and Works
Cosmo D'Angeli was born on 29 October 1889 in Rome, Italy. His family was owner of an oven near Termini Station. Graduated at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, he begins his own activity of painter and sculptor exposing his works in Via del Babuino, Via Milano, Via Veneto, Via Margutta, and in other streets and galleries of the Italian capital, winning various prizes among which "La Tavoletta D'oro".
His style, at first Impressionist, changed in time to marry the technician and the art of the Macchiaioli, also devoting to the sculpture and desultorily working as architect in the zone of Rome and Anzio Colonia. A lot of his works have crossed the national confinements for the foreign countries: France, Germany, England, Belgium and above all United States; preserved in private collections and in the lists of international art action houses.He dies of tumor in Rome on 28 November 1968, leaving his wife Adelaide and his daughter Anna.
