Early life and beginnings

Cora Skinner was born in Alexandria, Virginia and grew up in Creston, California, a town on the outskirts of San Luis Obispo. Growing up on a 70-acre ranch 30 miles from town, Cora was a tomboy. Her older sister and she were always outside playing, and while other girls might enter beauty pageants, Cora’s father would take her target shooting with pistols, and skeet-shooting with shotguns. Cora was involved in gymnastics, diving, dance, track and field, and cheerleading. When her sister began studying fashion design, Cora was her designated model and began to learn about the modeling world.

Not until Cora moved down to Los Angeles to attend California State University, Long Beach did she realize how many opportunities there were for her to pursue a modeling career. While studying accounting in college, Cora entered into an International Swimsuit Competition on The Best Damn Sports Show, and ended up getting a Top Ten title and an interview on the show. From there, she signed with an agency and began pursuing modeling full-time. Cora’s striking beauty and hourglass figure have made her a hot commodity for print ads and catalogs. Cora has been featured in national advertisements for Guess, Ed Hardy, Kay Jewelers, Palms Casino, Monster Energy, Two and a Half Men, Strut, and Guitar Hero. Her face has graced the pages of magazines such as Maxim, Muscle & Fitness, Import Tuner, FHM, Modern Bride, and Passport to Paradise, as well as in catalogs like Fredericks of Hollywood, Dreamgirl Lingerie, Apparel West, Miracle Suit, Fashion Nights, Private Label, and Kitty Chen Couture.[1]
