Coptologia is a research publication in Coptic Orthodox Studies founded in 1981 by Dr. Fayek M. Ishak. Part of the editorial policy is to unfold the links between the past and the present in order to bring about consistency of the Coptic tradition[1]. Most articles are in-depth studies ranging from Coptic art and archeology to currents of thought in Coptic Orthodox theology. The journal has addressed “unnecessary tensions which have been building themselves up among sister churches [that] have been worked out and ably mitigated or resolved, and light has been shed upon gross misrepresentations of Coptic fundamental pre-occupations by Western theologians and co-religionists.”[2]
