- Constitution Party of Texas
-
The Constitution Party of Texas is the Texas affiliate of the national Constitution Party. The party has been organized in Texas dating back to 1996 under the U.S. Taxpayer's Party, the precursor to the Constitution Party. It achieved a ballot line only once in Texas, in 1996, as the U.S. Taxpayer's Party in which Presidential candidate Howard Phillips received 7,472 votes or 0.13% of the ballots cast for President in Texas that year.[1][2]
The current State Party Chairman as recognized by the national Constitution Party is Bryan Malatesta.[3]
2010 ballot access
The party had proposed a slate of candidates to be chosen at a June 12 convention at Washington on the Brazos but was unsuccessful in gaining ballot access for the 2010 election via signed petitions.[4]
