Conrad I of Oldenburg (German: Konrad I. von Oldenburg) was Count of Oldenburg from 1344 to 1368.
He was the son of John II of Oldenburg and Hedwig of Diepholz.[1] Conrad married Ingeborg, the daughter of Count Gerard IV of Holstein-Plön. Four children were born of this union:
- Conrad II, Count of Oldenburg (d. 1401)
- Gerard of Oldenburg (killed in action 1368 while invading Rüstringen)
- Agnes of Oldenburg married Count Ludwig von Winstorf
- Christian V, Count of Oldenburg
Conrad I of Oldenburg succeeded his brother John III of Oldenburg in 1344.
Conrad I of Oldenburg is also the male-line ancestor of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and thus of Charles, Prince of Wales.
