Conor Matthew Mccreedy (born February 11, 1987) is an artist, model, and entrepreneur living in New York City.

Mccreedy develops his work between two continents. He draws his inspiration from the streets and people of Manhattan, New York where he lives, and from Northern Tuli game reserve in Botswana and its varied landscapes—forests, open savannah and abundant wildlife. He has begun to work in other mediums, focusing on sculpture and photography.

Mccreedy was commissioned by the Time Warner to capture its logo in his style.[1] He has held numerous art exhibitions, his most notable accomplishments were a solo exhibition of his Outliers collection at the National Arts Club[2][3] and an exhibition of his Look at Me collection at the David Brown Fine Art gallery in Johannesburg, South Africa.[4]

Early life and development

Mccreedy was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, the son of Mark William McCreedy and Carole Louise Barnes. He has two brothers: Matthew-Luc and Liam Francis. He attended prep school between 1993 and 2000 at St David's Marist Inanda, Johannesburg. He played soccer, representing the school and his province for four consecutive years; he also represented South Africa in the junior world soccer tournament in Sweden.[citation needed] He attended high school at Hilton College. There Mcreedy was appointed captain of the Hilton College Golf first team, participated in the South African International Amateur golf tournament,[5][6] and was awarded full school colors for Golf.[citation needed]

At Hilton College Mccreedy’s interest and ability in art developed.[7] Conor studied under a well known South African landscape and wildlife artist Brend Dodd.[8] A quotation from a letter of recommendation from the art professor at Hilton College read, “Conor is one of the most outstanding pupils to come through the department of art in the last decade. He is undoubtably one of the most naturally talented individuals I have ever seen in my lifetime".[9][10][11]

Mccreedy was awarded the Kennith Beghin memorial prize for Art and first prize for the annual university arts competition while still in high school.[citation needed] He obtained an IEB Matric pass with Distinction in Art which gave him admission to study a Bachelors Degree at university in South Africa.[12] Instead, he opted to attend college at the University of North Carolina on a golf scholarship.[13][14][15] However, Mccreedy moved onto the Pratt Institute of Art and Design in New York to further his studies in art.[16]

Mccreedy's theatre debut was in The Laramie Project at his college in North Carolina where he had a major role playing five different characters.[citation needed]

Mccreedy supports the Faces of Hope Foundation a charity that provides funding for child and adult sufferers of Lymphoma and Leukemia. [17]
