Synopsis
Jackie Cogan (Pitt) is a point man (a person who patrols ahead) for a hitman. Cogan begins investigating a heist of the mob's assets.[1]

Production
Cogan's Trade is based on the 1974 novel of the same name by George V. Higgins. The film is written and directed by Andrew Dominik. The project was first announced in November of 2010 when Brad Pitt was reported to be in talks for the lead role.[2] Pitt joined the project the following month, and production was scheduled to begin in Louisiana in March of 2011.[3] Additional roles were cast in early 2011.[4]
Pre-production began in Louisiana in January of 2011,[5] and filming was underway by March of 2011.[6]
Release
Cogan's Trade is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2012.[7] The Weinstein Company will distribute the film in the United States and Canada.[8]
