Cocoroco is an alcoholic beverage from Bolivia notable for its extremely high alcohol content by volume, 96%.[citation needed] Cocoroco is sold as "potable alcohol" most often in metal cans. Cocoroco is made of out of sugar cane.[1] Unlawful trade of cocoroco and coca leafs occurs across the Altiplano among Aymara communities living in Chile and Bolivia.[1] Cocoroco is illegal in some neighboring countries such as Chile where all alcoholic drinks with over 55% alcohol content by volume are illegal.
