In 2002, she received an award from Dr.Marsha Coleman-Adebayo, Chair of the No FEAR Coalition, and Representative James Sensenbrenner for her notable contributions to the “Notification of Federal Employees Anti-discrimination and Retaliation Act,” the first Civil Rights Law of the 21st Century. The Act was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2002.[1] Tanya Ward Jordan launched The Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C) which became incorporated in the District of Columbia in 2009. Philip Taylor, presently serves as Acting President. C4C, Inc. members serve to foster the fair treatment of all employees with particular emphasis on improving the treatment of African-Americans in the Federal workplace. Initiatives undertaken by the organization are implemented with the understanding that the Federal governments human resources management is inextricably linked to the quality of public goods and services.

According to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission systemic discrimination persists in the public sector and race and color discrimination is still very much alive in the American Workplace.[2]. Discrimination complaints increased in 2008. [3] In September 2009, EEOC reported to the Coalition For Change, Inc. (C4C) that from Calendar Year 2000 through Calendar Year 2009, 150 class-wide discrimination complaints were filed by African-American and or Black Federal employees.[4]
