Uragh Stone Circle with Gleninchaquin Lake and Uragh Wood in the backgroundArea 1,154 ha Governing body National Parks and Wildlife Service Cloonee and Inchiquin Loughs, Uragh Wood is the name of a Natura 2000 lake and woodland site in Tuosist, County Kerry, Ireland. Habitats incude lowland oligotrophic lakes and oceanic oak woodland.
The four main lakes in the area are the Salt Lake, Lower Cloonee Lake, Upper Cloonee Lake and the Gleninchaquin Lake. Uragh Wood was already protected as a nature reserve before the designation of a Special Area of Conservation to protect the area surrounding it and the loughs.[1]
This is one of the areas in which the rare Kerry Slug and the Lesser Horseshoe Bat are known to occur.
