Biography
Davies was born Clinton William Davies in Racine, Wisconsin in 1899.[1] He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Davies originally enlisted in the United States Army in 1918. Later he was commissioned an officer in the Air Corps. He later served as an instructor at Brooks Field, March Field, and Randolph Field. During World War II Davies commanded Tullin Air Base. Following the war he was assigned to Continental Air Command before taking command of the 18th Fighter Wing and Clark Air Base. Later he was assigned to the Air University. Awards he received include the Legion of Merit.
He died on January 31, 1989.
