"Squigs" is a puzzle computer game like "Columns" and "Tetris". It was first created in 1993 by Jon Hibbins on the Amiga. More recently Squigs has appeared as Squigs 3 on the PC.

Developed by Jon Hibbins and released to Amiga Power Magazine on the September 1993 cover disk 29.

Description

The game takes place inside a vertical well, as in "Tetris". Columns of three shape and colour Squigs appear, one at a time, at the top of the well and fall to the bottom at varying speeds. They stack on top of each other until a row of 3 or more (5 is maximum) Horizontal, Vertical or Diagonal Squigs of the same type are matched, they then disappear making more space.

The player can move it left and right, and can also cycle the positions of the Squigs.

Randomly (Based on level) special blocks appear, Metal Blocks can only be exploded, Dynamite Removes a Column, Bomb removes left and right of the location dropped, Electric removes the row. Squigs fall at a faster after every level is reached. The game is over when the well is full.

Normal : Progress is score and level based
Rescue : You must rescue the Squig shouting help at the bottom of the screen
