City Park (Houston)

City Park was a baseball venue located in Houston, Texas and was the home of the Houston Red Stockings in 1888. The ballpark is notable for being the place of the first Texas League game between Houston and the Galveston Giants on April 1, 1888. A large portion of the crowd came over from Galveston, expecting their team to humiliate the Houston team. However, Houston won the game 4-1 over Galveston.
