Cindy Duhe is an American self-taught artist who is best known for having a large body of work featuring a variety of subject matters.
Biography
Cindy Duhe was born in Houston, Texas. She began working in the arts in 1998[1] and has often credited a wayward chicken as her original muse. Over the years, she has remained a painter with her own voice and has refused traditional schooling for fear of it being a corrupting force against her vision. Typically working in the medium of acrylics on canvas or tin, her work generally centers on the theme of musicians from a variety of genres. Most notably known for her series portraying the street musicians of New Orleans or the Mariachi musicians of Texas, her paintings always use a strong dose of color and an interesting use of perspective - neither necessarily accurate or true to the subject matter at hand. In addition to her work painting musicians, she has also created a series of work entitled "Art Dogs" which brings to life the dogs of artistic masters by embedding them in their owners' famous works. She is currently[when?] working to make this series into a children's book.[2]
In addition to painting, Duhe has also dabbled in various other art forms. In 1999, she did voice acting for several Japanese anime films, including Galaxy Fraulein Yuna, Galaxy Fraulein Yuna Returns: Dawn of the Dark Sisters,[3] and Sorcerer Hunters.[4] In 2001, she produced and released a short EP of music entitled Luna - Fragments.[5]
