Christopher Streng is co-founder and director of streng, an award-winning design firm with locations in New York and Chicago. Founded in 1994, streng is an internationally recognized firm that demonstrates a diversity in expertise and mediums including product design, brand strategy & development, experiential design, anthropology, and packaging.

Career
Chris' extensive knowledge has allowed him to make significant contributions to areas such as consumer goods, fashion, housewares, and emerging technologies for clients such as KitchenAid, Procter & Gamble, Kohler, Cappellini, Motorola, Urban Outfitters, and Swatch, among others. His multidisciplinary approach allows function to dictate the elegance of a design—the function itself lends mood and emotional evocativeness. Chris also sits on the School of the Art Institute of Chicago’s Design Council and is in process of launching his personal website, CreativeReuse.com.
Awards & Honors
streng’s work has been exhibited internationally in Japan, Seoul, Shanghai, London and Milan, and he also led the Smithsonian's first National Design Triennial. He has won many awards from competitions including IDEA®, Good Design, Red Dot, SPARK, as well as the Ten Avant Gard Team Award. streng’s work has been published in Surface Magazine, Fast Company, Interni, Jane Magazine, Chicago Sun-Times, Intramuros, Interior Design, Arbitare, Time Out Chicago, Furniture Style, and Chicago Magazine, among others.
Early Education
Chris studied industrial design at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, anthropology and human geography at Marquette University, and architecture and product design at Domus Academy in Milan, Italy.
Personal life
Chris currently splits his time between New York City and Chicago. He is working on new furniture designs as well as reproductions of his award-winning pieces.
