Christian Blackshaw is a British pianist, born in Cheshire on January 18, 1949. He was educated at the Kings School, Macclesfield before studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, Royal Academy of Music with Gordon Green and subsequently the St Petersburg Conservatoire under Moisei Halfin. He was the first British pianist to study in Russia. He was later tutored by Sir Clifford Curzon in London who subsequently became a good friend. He lives between London and Suffolk and has three daughters.
