Jørgen Christensen-Dalsgaard (born 6 October 1950) is a Danish astronomer at Aarhus University in Denmark. He specializes in asteroseismology and helioseismology to which he has made significant contributions including predicting the oscillation of Sun-like stars in 1983.[1] He is the head of "Rumudvalget" (the comity of space of the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation)[2] and the Danish AsteroSeismology Centre (DASC). He is co-investigator on the Kepler mission[3] and the 300 researchers in the Kepler Asteroseismic Science Consortium (KASC) are led by him and Søren Frandsen in Aarhus.[4] KASC are a part of the Kepler Mission; they are responsible for the asteroseimology part of the Kepler. Dalsgaard has published several papers on this subject.[5]
He has been featured on Danish television and radio several times[6] and have given many free public lectures on astronomy and asteroseismology.[7][8][9] He has published over 200 articles[10]
