Chez Raginiak

Chez Raginiak – professional speaker, award-winning author, co-founder of Kids' Express Train, LLC and 1Moment, LLC.

Raginiak escaped communist Poland in 1985 at age 25 by securing a temporary exit visa to Italy under "Polish Pope" travel thaw of the mid 1980s. He crossed the Alps from Italy to Austria where he spent the next 6 months in Austrian refugee camp before relocating to the United States. In many ways his experience, once he reached the USA, embodies the near-mythological story of the hardworking individual rewarded by success that draws many to the American shores.

Starting from no fluency with the English language, Raginiak is now a recognized speaker on the immigrant experience. He is a Distinguished Toastmaster, the highest award in Toastmasters International, a level he achieved in less than 2.5 years after joining the international speaking organization, and a member of the National Speakers Association where is a 2009/2010 co-chair of the National Speakers Association Diversity Professional Expert Group. He has spoken both nationally and internationally on the challenges faced by newcomers to United States.

His first book, My Escape To Freedom, was nominated for a Midwest Book Award in 2008.

His second book, Learn English Without Teachers, is being translated to Spanish, Polish, Arabic, Hmong, Somali, and Burmese.

Today Raginiak is the founder & owner of Kids’ Express Train, LLC http://expresstrain.org, a company specializing in children's speech and language skill enhancement programs, and 1Moment, LLC http://www.1moment.us, his speaking and writing company.
