Chetna Gala Sinha is an Indian social entrepreneur.[1] She is empowering women in drought prone areas of rural India by inculcating entrepreneurial skills and providing them access to land and other means of production.

Early life
Born in Mumbai, she earned her Masters degree in Commerce and Economics from Mumbai University in 1982.
Career
Chetna Gala Sinha was a leader in the Jayprakash Narayan student activist movement at the end of the 1970s, which fought for the democratic and basic human rights of the rural and marginalized communities during the Indira Gandhi’s Emergency.
She founded chairperson, Mann Deshi Mahila Sahkari Bank, a micro finance bank which lends to women in rural areas.[2]
Personal life
Chetna is the mother of three sons and lives in Mhaswad, where Mann Deshi Mahila Bank has its headquarters.
