Cheraman Parambu ("the land piece of the high Chera") is generally regarded as the capital of the Later Chera kings (Kulasekharas of Mahodayapuram) who ruled parts of present day Kerala and Tamil Nadu states of India between 9th and 12th century CE. Situated 3 k. m. south of present day Kodungallur in Methala, Kodungallur Taluk, Thrissur district Cheraman Parambu spans about 5 acres.[1]
