Education
After leaving Harrow school, whilst studying at Central St. Martins, Charlie was approached by the popular Japanese menswear title Men’s Non-No [1] to document his personal style in a street style feature which appeared on a monthly basis over a three year period.[2] He began working with other publications and went on to contribute on a number of styling projects. He now styles and consults with a selection of UK bands.
Career
In 2008, whilst studing for a degree in History of Art at The Courtauld Institute, Charlie joined his father to launch luxury menswear label Casely-Hayford,[3] a brand based on English Satorialism and British Anarchy. Joe and Charlie currently work between London and Tokyo where their collections are produced; they focus on the idea of duality as a foundation for the brand's ethos. International stockists include Dover Street Market, Colette, Corso Como, Barneys, I.T Hong Kong and Isetan.
Other work
Charlie is currently the face of Converse[4]'s international ad campaign which celebrates their 50th anniversary of the Jack Purcell Trainer. In 2008/2009 he modelled alongside Coco Sumner as the face of Dr. Martens.[5]
In June 2010 Charlie was selected by Esquire Magazine as a 'Brilliant Brit' in their prediction of 75 young talents that will be shaping 2010. He was also selected to feature in i-D magazine's 100 portraits in fashion, shot by Nick Knight.[6]
In June 2011, Premier Model Management signed up Charlie as the newest addition to their Special Bookings board.
