Early Career and Education

LaDuca graduated from George Washington University with a degree in English. He received his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America. He began with the Cuneo Law Group, P.C. in 1995 as a messenger, and has moved up the firm's ranks to firm paralegal, law clerk, and attorney. He later became a named partner of the Cuneo Law Group's successor firm, Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca, LLP.

Notable Litigation

- LaDuca co-led the CertainTeed defective roofing litigation. The settlement was recently granted final approval by Judge Louis H. Pollak in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. The value of the settlement is estimated by class counsel to be over $700 million and covers 1.8 million homes.[1]

- LaDuca co-led the Entran II litigation, in which he defended homeowners whose radiant heating systems allegedly contained defective pipes. This $346 million bi-national settlement was one of the largest non-personal injury product liability settlements in history.[2]

- LaDuca served as counsel in the Guidant Heart Defibrillator litigation which originally settled for over $205 million. U.S. District Court Judge Donovan Frank has since rejected this original settlement, claiming it did "not adequately address Guidant's history and the criminal conduct at issue."[3]

- LaDuca serves as co-chairman of the Plaintiffs Steering Committee in the Zurn defective brass fitting litigation which was consolidated into multi-district litigation in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

- LaDuca serves as counsel in the Ipex defective brass fitting litigation.

- LaDuca served as counsel in over twenty cases challenging the blanket strip search practices of such municipalities as Phoenix, Philadelphia, San Antonio, Pittsburgh, Newark, Buffalo, Trenton, and Atlantic City. Many of these cases reached multi-million dollar settlements.[4]

Personal life

LaDuca grew up in Buffalo, NY, where he attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute High School.

LaDuca is married to Wendy LaDuca, a Washington-based attorney who works for Kalorama Partners, LLP. They have two children and live in Bethesda, Maryland.
