Charles Henry Williams (later known as Charles Henry Basset, from 1880) (16 November 1834 – 1 February 1908)[1] was a British naval and military officer, and a Conservative Party politician. He was the Member of Parliament for Barnstaple, 1868–1874.[1]
He was the son of Sir William Williams, 1st Bt. and Caroline Eales.[2] He was a Lieutenant of the Royal Navy serving through the Crimean War in the Russian theatre,[3] and then served as a Major in the Royal North Devon Yeomanry.[3]
