- Stephen Walt
Stephen Martin Walt (born
July 2 ,1955 ) is aprofessor ofinternational affairs atHarvard University 'sJohn F. Kennedy School of Government . In1983 , he received a Ph.D. inpolitical science from theUniversity of California, Berkeley . Dr. Walt developed the 'Balance of Threat ' Theory, which defined threats in terms of aggregate power, geographic proximity, offensive power, and aggressive intentions. More recently Walt has attracted attention for co-authoring and publishing withJohn Mearsheimer an article, which was subsequently published as a book, "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy ", a New York Times Best Seller.elected awards
