Hydestyle

Hydestyle

Hydestile is a hamlet between the villages of Busbridge and Hambledon, a few miles south of Godalming in south west Surrey. Hydestile is a very densely wooded area and is notable for Hydon's Ball (a steep, wooded hill), a Cheshire Home, and its wildlife hospital. From 1921, Hydestile was the site for two hospitals: King George V Hospital ( formerly a TB Sanatorium ) and St. Thomas' Hospital (formed from the evacuation of the Lambeth teaching hospital). The hospitals were demolished and redeveloped in 1995 (est.) following years of dereliction.
