Han Fu (? – 200) is a fictional character in the 14th century historical novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" by Luo Guanzhong. He was said to be the prefect of the old capital Luoyang, during the time when Guan Yu journeyed north to reunite with his lord and sworn brother Liu Bei. He tried to stop Guan Yu from passing through and shot the latter in the arm with an arrow, but he was slain by Guan Yu immediately.

Death in Guan Yu's hands

In 200, Guan Yu concluded his short service under Cao Cao and bade farewell to the latter to reunite with his former lord and sworn brother Liu Bei. In his hurry Guan Yu had failed to obtain an official document from Cao Cao and was challenged at Dongling Pass (東岭關, south of present day Dengfeng, Henan) by the pass warden Kong Xiu. After he slew Kong Xiu, Guan Yu moved on and came to the old capital Luoyang. The prefect Han Fu had already heard of Kong Xiu's demise and discussed the course of action with his aide Meng Tan (孟坦). They decided that Meng Tan would act as a lure to draw Guan Yu close to the city gate, where Han Fu would shot him with an arrow.

When Guan Yu came to the city gate and failed to produce a document, Meng Tan rode forward to challenge him to a duel. Within three bouts Meng Tan turned around and sped towards the gate. However, Guan Yu's horse, named Red Hare, was faster and caught up with the enemy, whom Guan Yu slashed into half with a sweep of his Green Dragon Crescent Sabre. Just as Guan Yu pulled his ride to a stop, Han Fu fired an arrow which hit him in the left arm. Pulling out the arrow with his mouth, Guan Yu galloped into the enemy ranks towards Han Fu, who tried in vain to escape. Guan Yu quickly gained on him and slashed him below his shoulders.
