Historic Cases

In March 2007, Cerberus was instructed to investigate the theft of a consignment of £500,000-worth of new-line stock from White Stuff, a clothing company. The incident occurred near the Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal (DIRFT) and was taken from a HGV lorry parked in a lay-by.[4] Following an investigation by Cerberus on eBay and other internet auction sites, samples of the stolen stock was identified and purchased. The seller’s details were supplied to the appropriate police departments and on the morning of May 16 eight warrants were successfully executed by the local constabularies in Liverpool North, Kirkby and Blackpool. A large number of items (roughly £50,000-worth) were retrieved, many in their original White Stuff container boxes from the HGV. Cerberus worked alongside three police forces, Warwickshire, Merseyside and Lancashire, and officers of the national intelligence agencies TruckPol and AVCIS and their provision of evidence led to the recovery of the stolen goods.[5]
