Three year-old season
As a three year-old, As Indicated began improving in the spring of 1993. In March he stormed home in the grade two Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct at a mile and one sixteenth. In that race As Indicated saved ground patiently under jockey C. V. Bisono. He then circled the field midway around the far turn and overtook leaders Itaka and Strolling Along down the stretch to win by two lengths.
Late in the spring, As Indicated had a minor injury that kept him out of the running for any of the triple crown races in 1993. In the late summer and early fall of the year, As Indicated finished a strong second in September in the grade three Woody Stephens Stakes. He later won two non-graded stakes races including the Sly Fox Stakes and the Happy Thanksgiving Stakes.
Four year-old season
At the beginning of his four year-old season in 1996, As Indicated ran a courageous race in the grade one Pimlico Special Handicap at "Old Hilltop" in Baltimore, Maryland. As Indicated broke from gate slowly in a field of seven graded stakes winners as the second favorite at 2-1 on the morning line. Jockey Robbie Davis played his strong suit by taking a strong hold and rating him patiently in sixth place behind the majority of the pack. Around the club house turn and down the backstretch, As Indicated inched up to fourth place behind prominent handicap horses like Devil His Due and Pistols and Roses. On the far turn, As Indicated made a huge move and challenged the leaders as four horses hit the top of the stretch together. At the sixteenth pole at Pimlico Race Course he shifted into a new gear and passed Pistols and Roses. Davis was briskly urging As Indicated with all his effort and he readily drew away to beat defending champion Devil His Due by two and a half lengths. Valley Crossing rallied off the rail to finish third. AS indicated finally won his grade one race and claimed $360,000 of the $600,000 purse.
Later that year, As Indicated won the three separate grade three races all at Aqueduct Racetrack. The first was the Grey Lag Breeders' Cup Handicap, the second was the Assault Handicap and the third was the Aqueduct Handicap. Many considered As Indicated a "horse for the course" at Aqueduct but he proved them wrong in the "Special."
Retirement
As Indicated was a gelding and was retired in late 1996. Unfortunately, he never had a breeding career.
