Gate Mudaliyar Arumugampillai Coomaraswamy (17831836) was a Sri Lankan Tamil politician during the British Raj, and served on the Legislative Council from 1833 to 1846[1]. He was an Indian from Tamil Nadu who migrated to Jaffna in the early 19th century[2]. He was the father of Sir Muthu Coomaraswamy and grandfather of Ananda Coomaraswamy.[3]
