AndreaMosaic is a graphics editing program developed and published by Andrea Denzler and specialized in the creation of photographic mosaic images.

History

The first release of AndreaMosaic is dated 1998 but it was used only by the Author. In the following years new features where added once or twice per year. A professional version 3.22 was introduced in March 2008 as a gift to the supporters/donors of the software, allowing the creation of very big photo mosaics. Since August 2008 a completely new user interface is available.

All main parameters for creating a mosaic are available:

* Automatic cropping of images to fit the tile aspect ratio
* Advanced mosaic rendering with intelligent color adjustment
* Advanced analysis and selection of the tile images to match the detail of the mosaic image
* Prevention of close duplicates
* Handling of large image collections and high resolution mosaics

Versions

As of|October 2008|alt=As of version 3.30 AndreaMosaic is available as the Standard version and the Professional version. Both share the same features but the Professional version allow the creation of mosaics up to 8000 megapixels and 500.000 tiles created from an collection of up to 500.000 images, while the Standard version is limited to a mosaic of 210 megapixels and 30.000 tiles created from a collection of 100.000 images. With a donation of at least $38 or with the support through testing and translations the author will send a copy of the Professional version.AndreaMosaic is supported on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 2003 and also on Linux distributions through the free Wine software. The software can be installed using the standard installer or through a fully portable no-install archive. License

The license allow free use of the software, including commercial use, but it require that every published or printed photographic mosaic, or derivative work, include a reference to software.
