Gertrude Comfort Morrow

Gertrude Comfort Morrow (born 1892, died 1987) was an American architect most known for designing with Iving Morrow the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California.

Morrow was born in San Francisco and received her bachelor's degree in archcitecture from [UC Berkeley [ in 1913, and her master's degree on year later. She worked as an independent architect out of Berkeley before joining the firm of her future husband, Irving Morrow. From 1924 to 1940, Morrow practiced architecture with Irving and his associate, William I. Garren. She was the Supervising architect for St. Francis Woods, a residential San Francisco neighborhood, during World War I. Other notable projects include Women's Athletic Club in Oakland, the music building at the Monrovian Seminary, and College for Women in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She and Irving designed the Alameda-Contra Costa County Building for the 1939 Golden Gate International Exposition. She died in Tucson at the age of 95.
