Chuck Taylor is primarily known as a poet. His two most recent books of poetry are "Heterosexual: A Love Story"and "Li Po Laughing at the Lonely Moon."Taylor also writes short stories, essays, and novels. He was born in Minneapolis in 1943 and has lived in Minnesota, Illinois, North Carolina, Iowa, Texas, and Japan. He has two published novels also, "Driter's Story" and "Fogg in High School."This Chuck Taylor should not be confused with the Chuck Taylor brand of shoes or with the author of books on guns and weaponry. He has worked as a soft water salesman, mental health worker, balloon clown, bookstore manager, laundry worker, factory worker, hospital maintenance man, and currently teaches literature and creative writing at an American university. He has been married three times and has three children and three ex-step children. He pacticipated in the civil rights movement, the Vietnam and Iraq anti-war movements, and was formerly a member of the environmentalist Earth First!
