"COSCO Guangzhou" is one of the largest
container ship , built ever. The large and very modern ship of Cosco Ship Management was built in 2006 in COSCO ship-yard. The ship has capacity for 9,500TEU , which is prtty large value for the corrent developing of Maritime Transport. The vessel is sailing mostly on routs betweenChina ,India andJapan and Western Europe and USA. "COSCO Guangzhou" is really modern and very innovated vessel built for this ship-owner.Design
"COSCO Guangzhou" has not only large cargo capacity, but also there is pretty large measurements. The
container ship has length of 350 meters and a beam of 43 meters. The draft while the ship is fully loaded is 11.50 meters, which is giving to the vessel a deadweight of 107,000 metric tons. The gross tonnage of "COSCO Guangzhou" is 99,833 GT. But the ship is well developed and very modern built. New improved paint is ecreasing water resistance and increase the power, which propulsion system is giving to the ship. That is the main reasin for the ship to realize so high seed, even fully loaded. The main engine is Mitsubishi with full power of 52,650 hp. This is enough for the ship to sail with cruising speed of 24.5 knots. The fuel consumption and lubricant oil consumption is decreased with more than 4% in this ship.Bridge Equipment
The "COSCO Guangzhou" is equipped with modern techniques for plotting of the ship's position. The whole bridge is designed with better and very modern style. There is all type of extras for easier and very efficient work of the officers. The bridge equipment consists of AIS,
GPS ,dGPS and ARPA, which equippment is required for IMO for easy and reliable work of all navigational Officers. The Electronic chart system -ECDIS plots the ship's position against charts automatically, which decreases the work of the officers and increase their accurate work in maneuvering with other ships. Also cargo operations are dictated vie computer program installed on basic computers on board.See also
